Don’t Freak Out — These Scalp Oils Will Stop Flakes Immediately

I’d never dealt with dandruff… until last year, when my scalp became itchy and flaky. What had happened to my beautiful head? More importantly, was this going to totally fuck up my hair?

I’d never dealt with dandruff… until last year, when my scalp became itchy and flaky. What had happened to my beautiful head? And more importantly, was this going to totally fuck up my hair? (It had finally started to grow out. I couldn’t risk it.)

After much anxious googling, I found that, yep, a healthy scalp = healthy hair. It’s not the end-all-be-all, but it certainly helps to have a nice, happy scalp. That’s because an uneven pH or thinness of the skin can cause issues like hair loss, dullness, and lack of growth — and issues like hormonal shifts and medication changes can cause this.

And then the dandruff. While it doesn’t directly cause hair loss, it spurs scratching, which can pull at hair and damage your follicles, which then leads to excessive shedding.

Okay, so, I needed to take care of my scalp. But how? More anxious googling led to scalp oils. Filled with amazing ingredients, I knew I had to get my hands on a few to figure out what helped, so I’d stop scratching and heal my head once and for all. Again: google. And this led me to these oils, many of which actually did wonders for my poor, angry scalp’s skin.

If this sounds like you, don’t worry — I’m sharing my personal experience so you know you’re not alone, and so you know there’s hope! Here are some scalp oils that worked for me, as well as others that have helped those in our position.
